Do I need anything more then a bill of sale for a FTF over state lines?

It’s a good buddy so I am not worried about it being stolen or any of that.

Did not really know where to put this, mods feel free to correct me.

I thought FTF, literally meant face-to-face. How can it be FTF over state lines? Unless you're right on the border.

You cannot purchase or sell a handgun FTF across state lines. All of those transactions MUST go through a FFL to be legal. Long guns may be purchased out of state and sold FTF.

If neither party has an FFL, there are no legal interstate sales at all.

An FFL may acquire a handgun or long gun from an out-of-state seller if the gun is shipped, or if the transaction takes place at the FFL's licensed premises (which includes gun shows within the FFL's state).

An FFL may dispose of long guns to buyers from any state, so long as both states' laws allow it. (A Texas FFL can't sell an AR to a California resident, for instance.)

An FFL may not dispose of handguns to out-of-state recipients.

Non-FFLs may not acquire or dispose of any firearm from or to an out-of-state resident.

Word. And it's a federal felony to break these laws.
