Other than on duty, have you ever had to draw your CCW?

Got this idea from another forum. Other than on duty (police, military, etc.) have you had to draw your CCW. If so lets hear your stories. I'll start with mine. I didn't draw but.....Some buddies and I got off work at about 3 am and decided to go to the local Waffle House for some food. We stopped off at an ATM to pull some cash out and out of nowhere a guy is standing next to my car with a knive and says for me to hand over the money. At the time I kept my Springfield Champion between my seat and center console. I pulled it out and set it on my lap and said to him "I don't think so". I'm not even sure I finished that statement before he said he was sorry, droppped the knive and ran away. About two weeks later, at the same ATM a man got shot and killed while trying to rob someone else....not sure if it was the same guy though.

Does drawing on a stray dog to protect property/pets count?

It stayed out of comfortable snub-vs-moving-target-at-night range, though.
