How Many Rounds Do You Fire

This may be a topic that has been around before, if so someone can point me in the right direction.
During discussion with a LEO friend, the topic of range time came up. Once again I find that I spend several more hours each month than about 99% of their officers (swat not included).
Just wondering what time you spend at the range, or plinking at the dear lease/own property.
Also, does anyone know of a indoor range in the DFW area that allows magnum rounds. I know DFW Gun Range does, but I have found it crowded with security guard classes.

About 1000 rounds of pistol, 2-3000 of .22 LR, and 2500 or so shot shells per year. That's for my wife and me. It's a rare week when we don't go to the range at least once.

The
The shooting Gallery allows any rounds up to and including .50caliber except for shotguns.

That is a lot of ammo. I've just now shot 1000 rounds through my pistol, and I've had it for 4 months.
I tend to go once, maybe twice a month as $$$ allows, and consider the trip wasted if I haven't put at least 150 rounds 9mm downrange. Since I got my .22, the number of pistol rounds required has gone down (I used to shoot 200-250 per trip), as .22 allows me to work on longer-range marksmanship and aim-steadying factors like breathing and calming of nervous twitches for pennies per round (last time I went it was 100 rounds, 10 targets' worth). That then requires fewer rounds for practical shooting and defense drills (double-taps, mock CHL).

I generally try to go once per week and fire 50-100 .22 rounds from my converted HiPower and 20-50 rounds from my 9mm HiPower, my KT P11 or my .45.

Now you tell me. I was getting ready to drive to Galveston and follow you around with a bucket
Even if I get a progressive press and develop a good smokeless powder substitute made entirely from cat barf and fire ants, I don't think I can afford a thousand bullets every week.
If anybody wants to work on that powder substitute, I'd be willing to ship you a cat with an impressive production capacity.

My parents have cats, and I've fostered a couple, and I know exactly what a cat can do. If you can make saltpeter out of cat barf, you're sitting on a gold mine.

Not as much as I'd like. I try to shoot once a week, putting down about 200 rds per visit.
But remember, it's the quality of your practice, not just the number of rounds you shoot. Practice with a purpose. Dry fire exercises can be more valuable than wasting ammo.

I generally go to the range about every other weekend. I go through probably 200 rounds of 9mm and 9mm Makarov and between 40 and 200 rounds of 7.62x54R during each session.
I know that I've gone through about 1600 rounds of 7.62x54R in the past year. I don't buy most of my handgun ammo by the case, but I would estimate 2200 rounds of 9mm Makarov, 1700 rounds of 9mm, and 1200 rounds of .22 during that same time period. I just started shooting in January of '07, so I just tallied everything I've ever gone through, and it's the same for the past year.

My wife and I have been trying to shoot 200 - 300 rounds each per month. That used to cost about $50 -$60.
Today, 500 rounds of 9mm would run $85, 40 S&W $135.
We got ourselves a Browning BuckMark 22 for Christmas. That looks like the only way to keep up the round count.
We also have a Gamo semi auto pellet pistol. But it is not near as much fun.
In anticipation of the government rebate check, I did go out and boost the economy by buying 1000 rounds of 357SIG. The way the prices have been going I may never again be able to afford 357SIG.

Ouch. My sides hurt now! My brother and I used to shoot every weekend. We'd usually go through 200-300 rounds of 9mm or .45, whichever we brought, every weekend, and enough .380 just to keep skills with the KT P3AT. Usually, and entire brick of .22 would be gone on Saturday. Once a month or so, we'd bring out the AR's and an easy 500 rounds would be gone. On some weekends we brought the shotguns, we'd usually split a full case and go through the whole thing, so there's 250 shot shells. Geez! I could finance the army of a small country! Now, I'm down to a couple hundred 9mm or .45 rounds a month Haven't had a chance to go take out the AR's, or the clay thrower in MONTHS! I haven't actually tried to figure out how many rounds we went through, and now that I'm thinking about it, I don't want to! I should start reloading!
