"Michael Moore's Bodyguard Arrested on Airport Gun Charge
Thursday, January 20, 2005

NEW YORK — Filmmaker Michael Moore's (search) bodyguard was arrested for carrying an unlicensed weapon in New York's JFK airport Wednesday night.

Police took Patrick Burke, who says Moore employs him, into custody after he declared he was carrying a firearm at a ticket counter. Burke is licensed to carry a firearm in Florida and California, but not in New York. Burke was taken to Queens central booking and could potentially be charged with a felony for the incident.

Moore's 2003 Oscar-winning film "Bowling for Columbine" criticizes what Moore calls America's "culture of fear" and its obsession with guns."

You gotta love this one. 8)

It does seem like justice however, New York DAs have been requiring airlines notify law enforcement when a traveller declares they have a firearm in their baggage. This declaration is required under FAA regulations. When the airlines notify LE, the traveller is arrested and held on violation of New York gun law. May be what happened in this case, may not.

What is about liberal "celebrities" like Moore and O'Donnel - - - they don't want the average guy to have a gun to defend themselves with but will hire a "bodyguard" who totes? It's the epitome of hypocrisy!!!!!

MoJo, they are famous and they have a real reson to be scared of a crazed gunman or mugger who may want to hurt them.

We are just lowly citizens and no one does anything to us. Why would we need a gun?

I must say I find it very odd that they have no problem having someone carry a gun for them. If I could afford it, I would have someone carry my gun for me too.

I find it amusing as well. And other then a few small blurbs here and there it is not much in the news. Funny how that works as well.

Little dance?

More like an old fashioned square dance. :D

Cut a rug!

Sorry, after the way Rosie O'pig blindsided Tom Selleck and had her bodyguard caught carrying, after Diane Fineswine makes her comments, (while having a CHL, btw), and then to hear that Moore, who made an anti-gun movie get his BG pinched, and the drunken liberal sot from Taxachusetts has his BG nailed for carrying MG's into the Capitol,
it's time for a barn burner.

Nothing about Michael Moore surprises me. His type would naturally hire someone else to do the menial work. Carrying a pistol would be beneath his dignity.
I wonder if someone has ever documented as to when his last bath was taken. Surely not in this century. He looks and dresses to show exactly what he is. A PIG

Remids me of a great bumper sticker I saw over at Cheaper Than Dirt: "If guns kill people then spoons made Rosie O'Donnel fat"
