CHL AT Texas State Parks

I know that State Parks have gone through some changes on this. Parks all have a policy of no loaded weapons in the park. However, I think some time back the Parks Director issued a letter saying that CHL is OK. Not a change to any laws, but a letter as I understood it.
I'm going to a state park this weekend and I want to carry if it's OK, but I naturally don't want to run afoul of any laws.
What's the latest on CHL at state parks? Thanks

At least that's what my CHL instructor told me when I asked that question.

Yep, 100% legal.

This issue has been discussed at length here in the past. In fact, I've posted a scan of the letter from former director Andy Sansom regarding this policy on the forum a couple of times already.

Please keep in mind that your CHL is worthless when on Corp of Engineers property or most other Federal recreation areas. If you go to a State Park that is on a COE managed lake, such as Lake Whitney State Park, you need to be careful where you go if go sight-seeing.
