Another stupidism at work. I mean some times you just have to let things go. Also if the officer was parked down the street then why did he not here the gun shots?

FORT WORTH -- A dispute between neighbors over loud music in north Fort Worth early Saturday ended with one fatally shooting the other, police said.
Joseph Rozier, 41, called police at about 2 a.m. to complain about a neighbor playing loud music in the 700 block of Darlington, said Lt. Paul Henderson, a police spokesman.
A responding patrol officer spoke with the neighbor and asked him to turn the music down, he said. Afterward, the officer parked down the street to do some paperwork.
Shortly after, a witness ran up to the officer and said Rozier had just shot the neighbor, Henderson said. The officer returned to the scene and saw Rozier, who was holding a shotgun, standing over the victim.
Witnesses said that after the officer left the first time, Rozier and several people who were at the victim's party argued, Henderson said. Rozier got a shotgun from his house.
One of the victim's friends alerted the victim that Rozier had a shotgun, he said. So the victim got a handgun and confronted Rozier.
Witnesses said Rozier shot the victim three times. They also said he hit the victim's girlfriend in the head with the shotgun.
The victim died at John Peter Smith Hospital. He had not been positively identified Saturday morning.
Rozier was arrested on suspicion of murder.

That's insane. The guy shot him 3 times with a shotgun? Dang.

The Officer was probably listening to his iPod!

obviously he couldn't hear the gunshots over the loud music of the Neighbor's party!!!
srsly, bad deal all around.
key word of the day: De-escalation.

Guy needed killing for playing loud music at 2:00am. I understand.

Don't know that I think the guy needed killing for playing loud music (could depend on the music though
) but I sure believe his stereo needed killing!

coming from someone who has two or three neighbors that are VERY inconsiderate about their stereos, I understand the frustration that stems from not being able to hear your own TV, or enjoy some simple peace and quiet.
there have been times where I have called the slum lord, I mean Apartment Office, and have had no resolution. Office is closed, security detail only "works" at night. Only way to not hear the "noise" is turn your own stereo/TV up louder.
doesnt' seem like much of an answer. why should I suffer hearing lossdue to their inconsideration??
but,
caaaaaaaaaaaaaall the cooooooooooooooooooooops, don't go rolling over there with your shotty, I mean, come on!

It appears that he aimed his shotgun at the wrong target, doesn't it?

There's just too much missing in the story to know for sure; I can't see anything that rules out the neighbors initiating the confrontation after police left.

after the cops left is one thing. but I still say you don't leave your house to go "deal with them."
now, if they came in his yard, and even up to his door, well, that's another story entirely.

Stereos don't cause noise pollution. People do.

There's really nothing there to indicate
where this confrontation took place. I think that would tell us a lot.
If Rozier went to the party with a shotgun and said something like "I ain't tellin' you again. TURN IT DOWN!" And then this became a deadly confrontation, I say throw the book at him.
On the other hand, if the party host and/or his guest(s) went to Rozier's place drunk and disorderly and asked, "You the _________ called the cops on us? Huh? Huh?" And it escalated from there, then he probably got what he deserved.
Whoever initiated contact is probably at fault. IANAL, and as mentioned, we don't know all the details.
Let the police handle it. I mean, they came over once. What, do you think if you call again they're going to say, "No, we've already been over there"? No, they're going to come back, irate that they have to come back. Probably the second or third time in one night that they have to go to the same party, someone's going to get handcuffed. (Just my opion.)
