Bang Bang with the Taurus

Two weekends ago I was in Houston for an Autocross event. My nephew mentioned to me that he was waiting on his plastic but did not have a gun to carry. So I pulled my PT-111 in Tan, out of the holster and cleared it, then handed it to him. He immediately said he liked it. I offered it to him. He accepted. I drove back to Fort Worth on Monday UNARMED! Boy I felt naked. Before I got home, I went straight to Cheaper than Dirt and bought another one. This time in Black. Mainly because they did not have a Tan one in stock.
Well, This weekend I went to the range in Joshua to sight in my daughters 22 rifle. I put a BSA red dot on it. I also bought 3 boxes of ammo for the new Pt-111. Two boxes of Monarch green box and a box of Winchester 115 JHP white box. The Taurus performed flawlessly. Fired all 150 rounds without a single hick-up. Accuracy at 25 yards was what I expected. I actually only fired about 30 rounds "aiming". The rest I fired by shooting instictively. Almost all hits were either centered on the head, or in a sofball sized hole inthe center of the chest. had a couple flyers but that was because of me not maintaining muzzle control while shooting four or five rounds rapidly. I am pleased.

Good one. He is my only nephew and my sister says I am a bad influence on him.

Because of me, he is a Gearhead and a shooter. he has applied for his CHL and now he has fallen in love with autocross. When I was down in Houston he bought a VW Jetta. As i was driving in to town he calls me and asks me to meet him at a certain car lot to check the car out before he buys it. That Sunday was his first ever autocross. He is coming up here next month to take our clubs driving school. I hope he brings his gun so we can go shooting also.

Do the Millennium Pro pistols give a grip bite or rub..I manhandled a few at the gun show and the ridges feel rather sharp
I like the
745B but the grips felt like they would rub your hand raw in no time...what do you think..and how about the trigger pull, do you like it?
How much recoil does the 9mm version have..and would you recommend a 9mm or the .45 Millennium Pro?
I would bet going from a all metal full size 1991A1 to one of these would feel like going from a bowling ball to a feather

The grip only bothers me when I do not wear an under shirt and it rubs on my side. OK, I have a little "extra" in that region.

I am pretty used to wearing an undershirt since I had to for 24 years in the military so I just wear one all of the time now. When shooting it, the grip feels very comfortable. Of course the most I have put thru it so far is 150 rounds in one session. But I felt no pain or discomfort in my hand.
The trigger pull is not to bad. I would like to see it a bit shorter but it is not bad. I have definately pulled heavier triggers. One reason I do NOT like the Berretta 92 series is the Loooooong trigger pull. At least the ones we had in the military. As far as recoil, there is a bit more muzzle flip than my CZ-75B but not bad. Easily controllable.
As far as caliber, HHMM Good question. There is no doubt that a .45 has more stopping power than a 9MM. I actually debated getting a.45 or a .40 instead of the 9MM. The main reason I didn't is becasue of the cost of ammo. 9mm is way cheaper than .40 or .45. If I never shot it and only carried it I may have gone with the .40. But I shoot my carry gun at least once a month. I personally feel that as long as I carry a good dependable Hollow point round, combined with being able to put hits on target, I should be OK with the 9mm.
As I said in my OP I am very happy with it. Now, would I carry a 1911 in .45 if one fell into my holster, You bet.

But between the CZ and this Taurus I am good to go.
