Kahr CW45 and the Comp-Tac Minotaur

Hey everybody,
I recently aquired a Kahr CW45 to replace my Kahr CW9. Imagine my surprise when I loggen onto the Comp-Tac website and discovered the CW45 is not a model they have the Kydex "face plates" to match to the hybrid holster they make. I sent an E-mail to the "contact us" address and recieved a (promt) reply from Randy which stated that the P45 holster might work. He said he "wasn't sure since he'd never tried it."

Well, even with such a ringing endorsement I was loathe to drop 35 bucks plus tax and shipping on it right away. I trucked on out to Kahr's website and discovered the pistols are almost identical in dimesion save for the slide length. There appears to be about 3/10ths of an inch difference with the CW45 being the longer of the two.

My question is: Has anyone tried it, seen it done or heard of someone else tryingit and having it work? I know it seems a little obsessive to dwell on such a small purchase but I think I'd rather have something that works rather than relegate another piece of equipment to "thedrawer of uselessness.

By the way, the holster is the nicest piece of EDC kit I've ever indulged in. The fit, finish, comfort and retention are second to none and I'm immensely glad I own it. I fully endorse the product and just want to continue to use it. I'm excited to hear any input from you fine folks and I thank you in advance for any help you might offer. :bigear: I'm all ears.

Oh, I realise there are literally hundreds of holster makers out there that can fashion or currently sell a concealment rig for my gun. That wasn't my question, however. I do appreciate the reply, though.

I was specifically asking about using the P45 face plate on the Comp-Tac Minotaur to carry a CW45 pistol and if anyone had any first or second hand experience with that particular scenario.

Does any one else have any input on my particular dillema? Tucker gun leather and their whereabouts aside?

And then there was Forrest Tucker.

He was great in the Sands of Iwo Jima and F Troop

Tucker has moved to The Woodlands just across 45 from where I work. :thewave
Just picked up a new belt and holster he made for me. They are great.
I wish mine would get here. 27 weeks now & last e-mail. "You are in the top 10".
Only BBQ rig I will ever own I am sure.
Cant wait for Open Carry to pass. :thumbs2: :fire

Doesn't Comptac still make Tucker's kydex shells for him? I know they used to do it...

As for the CW45 and the MTAC shell, for 5$ more Comptac will make it a custom shell (longer or shorter if you need) and you can take a hair dryer to it if it needs the molding adjusted. Comptac is great to work with! I love my MTAC.

I did not know this. I truly appreciate the input.
