WEATHERFORD, Texas -- Police said they arrested a Weatherford High School student after finding a pistol in his pants Tuesday.
Police said they were trying to question Karlo Galentine, 19, after they found marijuana in his locker when he tried to walk away.
Officers stopped Galentine and found a 9mm pistol in the waistband of his pants, police said.
Galentine admitted to stealing the weapon, but police said there was no evidence of a plot or threat from him.
Police said a student submitted a tip to Crimestoppers, which the school’s principal, David Belding, applauded.
“I encourage all parents to talk to their children and stress the importance of doing what is right – as the student did who came forward this morning,� he said in a news release.
