I broke my one and only carry piece last night at the range. Yea yea I know I should have more carry pieces... I’m working on that.

I was shooting my SW1911SC and the screw that holds the mag catch fell out. The first indicator that something was wrong was when the mag fell out of the gun. Then I had a moment while I tried to figure out what’s going on then, I and another moment when I thought what if this had happened during a gunfight. Well i can't find the screw now so I’m taking it to the gunsmith this weekend but till then I feel naked.

Well you've got a CHL, so it sounds like a good excuse to go out and buy another gun ;)

I guess we can all empathise, and be glad it happened to you at the range...And not out in public...

Depending on what side of town your on...

The Ed Vandenburg guy that has his "shop" across from Ellington Field, in my opinion should be able to take care of that for you...

He works a regular day job, but comes in in the late afternoon, early evenings to his shop...Its usually by appointment only, but let me go fetch the link to his website, and you can call him from there if this becomes an option...

Its either that, or I'll loan you one of my carry pieces till you get yours fixed...

BRB...

of when I wanted to buy a second handgun. My wife said, "why do you need two guns?". Awhile later, the first gun broke and I had a backup. Then when I started to carry the backup while I had to wait on the Gunsmith (30 days), she realized that she was without any protection at home. She quickly realized the need for "three guns".

In other words, you need another gun, or two. ;-)

isa268-

I feel your pain.. I'm sending my S&W 908 back tommorrow so Smith can fix my broken mag release. Luckily however, I've got some good backups. They are a neccessary thing, in my opinion.
