First MySpace now FaceBook: What's next rock concerts!?

Okay folks, it's time for another laugh. I started a MySpace site a few weeks ago to promote Second Amendment issues and I just registered for FaceBook as well. I'm just learning it, but I do like the "Group" feature. I started a group titled "TexasCHLforum" and joined the NRA and TSRA groups as well. I was able to link an RSS feed to TexasCHLblog.com, so everything that gets posted there will go to my FaceBook site as well.

If any of you are FaceBook members, please consider adding me as a "friend" and joining the TexasCHLforum Group. Unlike MySpace, you have to register to be able to see anything, but here is the link to my site: http://www.facebook.com/people/Charles_ ... 1169017866

Before you ladies start smirking again and question my motives, I'll answer the obvious questions: Yes, I used my real age, posted a recent photo, and listed myself as married. There, am I back on the "good guy" list again?

Seriously folks, anything we can do to increase the traffic/coverage/exposure of the TexasCHLforum and its message to an audience we normally wouldn't reach is extremely valuable. If our members can help promote the MySpace and FaceBook sites we will reach more people than I can reach alone. The people that frequent MySpace and FaceBook tend to be much younger than the average age of NRA and TSRA members and they tend to respond to Senator Obama's Utopian message. It is imperative that we reach this age group with an accurate message of the importance of the Second Amendment and the everyday utility of defensive handguns.

If you can help promote these sites, please do so. It would also be helpful if you can help link to and/or otherwise promote the TexasCHLblog. I have no doubt that there is a large body of people who will read those sites, but would not take the time or effort to read a discussion board like the TexasCHLforum. Perhaps they will if they get interested in the issue, but we need to reach them through some media. And if you are thinking, as I initially did, that your too old for those sites, or just don't want to get involved with them, please reconsider. We absolutely must reach and recruit younger people into NRA, TSRA and the Second Amendment defense battle in general. If we fail to do so, we quite literally could see the demise of gun rights in a single generation.

Thanks,
Chas.

My Space, Facebook.....I hope that you are not going to the Hannah Montana concert at the rodeo tonight as well! Lol. I recently saw on tv that the guy who started facebook is about 25 years old, and one of the top 10 or 20 wealthiest persons in the USA!

It's all so new to me that I don't know how to help. You may be able to see it and get to it from my profile. I can see it there, but I'm not sure about other people.

Chas.

MySpace was a great way to keep in touch with family in friends (that somehow fail to grasp the much simpler world of email) during my first tour in Iraq. Facebook has proven much more useful to me during this rotation. For the record, I loathe MySpace, but several friends use it for their bands so I maintain a profile there. I'll add you when I'm on a computer that can access the web unrestricted.

Charles,

I've been on Facebook for quite some time, and I'm in a group of like-minded individuals that tries to educate gun control advocates of their logically fallacy through empirical evidence, debunking Brady campaign lies, etc. We usually look for anti-gun groups on Facebook, join them, and begin our "counter-offensive" by posting on their boards, starting discussions on their group pages, etc. We're successful in a lot of cases of at least getting hard core gun control advocates to at least re-evaulate their positions. And personally it has helped provide me with a lot of useful information that I use to defend gun rights person-to-person.

It is a secret group however (since we don't want anti-gun people posting on our boards ) so I will have to invite you. If anyone else is interested let me know - we're always looking for support
