New scope recommendations?

I'm looking for a new scope to put on my AR. I'd like a tactical variant of some kind, but I don't want to break the bank. I looked at the Cabela's scopes and they look pretty good. Any suggestions from you guys? It has a 16" Wilson Combat fluted heavy barrel, and is soon to be free floated. I've toyed with the idea of replacing the barrel with a 20" or 24", but she's a sweet shooter even without the free float yet, and I'm not sure how much more I'll get from the extra 4" or 8".
