Wel, it loks like we may have a few more converts. I have been talking to a woman at work about self defense, shooting and CHL in general. When we first started talking about guns she was almost an anti. I say almost because, though she was not anti, she was very much afraid of guns. Over the last few months, I have been talking to her, showing her stories about people defending themselves, and those that were not able to. She has also had a couple situations that "creeped her out". I think one of the final straws was when she used a website to see how many sex offenders lived near her.

Well, she comes to me the other day and says that she wants to take a CHL class. :hurry: :hurry: :hurry: So I get her some info on where to take the class, what to expect that sort of thing. She is signed up for a class at the end of March. On top of that she has convinced her daughter and son in law to take the class also. :anamatedbanana :anamatedbanana

did you suggest that she at least get some hands on training, or "beginner's gun safety" training BEFORE sitting for the CHL? Hopefully she has had, or will have sufficient experience before the "Proficency" test for the CHL.

just my opinions

I broke the subject by mentioning one Thursday that right after work I was going to an IDPA match. She asked about it and that got us on the subject of guns. Her son in law has several guns and he is going to take her to the range a few times before her class. Friday, we had a long chat about gun safety and such. She laughed real hard when I told her to keep the booger hook off of the Bang switch until you are ready to fire. By the way, whoever came up with that one is a genius. "rlol"

While we were talking about the range portion, a guy from our Purchasing dept. came to se me. He says something like "You guys talking about the CHL class?" Turns out he has his also, but does not carry at work. He leaves it in his truck. I asked him why? He had no real reason, said he just does. I showed him in the company policy where it never even mentions weapons or guns, so there is nothing prohibiting us from carrying at work.
