Sending in the packet early

I just finished with the CHL course last Sunday (shot a 248/250 and perfect score on the written).

I'm not quite 21 years old yet (3/22) but will I be able to send the packet in on the Friday before (3/21)? Is should be okay if I turn 21 before DPS recieved the packet, right? I ask because I will be gone that weekend to attend a rifle class and then will need to drive my brother back to Lubbock the following Monday. I really don't want to procrastinate sending it in...what do you guys think?

One of the affidavits says that you affirm that you are 21 years of age. I don't think you should sign that affidavit before your 21st birthday.

You can mail the packet from anywhere. I don't see a problem there.

:iagree: as eager as I am sure you are, waiting to sign that affidavit to confirm your age is a good idea. In the grand scheme of things, sending off your packet a few days earlier will mean little compared to the randomness in processing that is Texas DPS and FBI. Better to do it right.
