Fluff & Buff time @ the Flintknapper household....

Time to “Fluff & Buff the trio.

You may remember my post a few weeks ago about certain family members of mine deciding to get their CHL’s.

Three of the five needed to buy carry weapons.

I offered to do the testing and reliability work on the weapons prior to them taking the CHL course. My baby brother brought these up from Austin today and left them with me.

I will “wring them out and see what (if anything) they need. I will report back here my findings…(if there is anything noteworthy).

I have shot the Kahr and Kimber models before….but haven’t shot the Beretta Storm, so this will be interesting.

Where are the cases of ammo that your brother supplied with the guns? :evil2:

I guess we can assume that your baby brother is not one of the three family members about to get their CHL.

If he is, he's more than ready without you bothering with any fluff & buff. :hurry:

Try not to work too hard getting those three pistols ready for the CHL qual test. We all know you'll approach this as a chore and not an opportunity to play.

It's here.

He brought a "bunch-O" Winchester White Box.

We will have to experiment with personal defense loads later.

Man....I sure hate to have to shoot these things in, but since its "family".... I guess I'll suffer through it. ;-)

Actually he IS one the members about to get the CHL. He has always had rifles, shotguns, pistols, shooting equipment, etc....., he just never decided to carry until recently. He has a very nice Kimber Compact that he's owned for years, so he didn't need to buy anything for himself.

He got the Kahr P-9 for his wife (She picked it out)...and the Kimber Ultra Carry II for his son (Son picked it out).

Sweet!!!!
I guess that leaves the Beretta for big brother as a small token of appreciation. Oh man, I wish my baby brother was a little more like that.

Seriously, I would love to see your report on the Kimber. My son (32) is trying to decide on his first pistol and has a Kimber Ultra Carry II on his wish list.

Good luck with the project and have fun.

Naw, the Beretta is one a friend of the family bought. He too figured it would be a good idea to get his CHL. My older brother's wife is going to get a P9 also, but he (Older Brother) is more than capable of FBing it. I know this is getting a little confusing.

My older brothers wife, My baby brother...(his wife and son) and a friend of the family... are all getting their CHL's after I look at their weapons and have a training session with them. So 5 new CHL's very soon. :hurry:

Yeah, it's a "burden" but I am happy to do it.

Sort of:
“Whatever you do, cried Brer Rabbit, “Don’t throw me into the briar patch, ;-)

They run good. Never a bobble from either & with any ammo. Not finiky about PD ammo either. 9mm for Wife & Mom both.
They break down easy for cleaning. The trigger is fine for anyone that is not accustomed to a really good one. Little long & heavy but smooth. Not gritty. Probably 10 LB.
The ambi decocker design is great. I dont remember the letters but Barbara likes hers set up to decock & then manually reset. Mom's is set up on the spring auto reset after decock. They decock easier than Mom.s sig. 232
The girls like the backstrap choices. Mom's hands are a lot bigger than Barbara's.
Double Action/Single action at the price. Excellent, reliable, for some a little large for conceal but very doable. Not even close to a 92.
