checking progess of chl app

allright, i just turned 21 and sent the CHL packet after a rifle class.
when will I be able to check the process of my CHL? the packet was mailed 3/24. will the DPS email me a PIN to check online or is there a link where i use my application number?

You will receive a PIN number in the mail after a few weeks (usually >4.) You will be able to use it to check your status on-line at the DPS website at

If you did your application online, the PIN was in the packet they sent you, and can be requested from them by email if you lost it. Otherwise, they'll mail you the PIN.

I didn't get the packet online because of the over 21 requirement they had on the website. I didn't want to falsify any information them.
So, I'm just waiting for them to get my packet, process it, and mail me the PIN.

Yeah, I did take the CHL class 3/9. I just couldn't mail the packet on my 21st birthday since I was attending a rifle class.
