GRAPEVINE (CBS 11 News) ―
Police say an 18-year-old woman was attacked at the AMC Grapevine Mills 30 movie theater at Grapevine Mills mall.

The woman, who was attending a movie with a friend about 5:15 p.m. Monday, told police she went to the bathroom. She says while she was there someone hit her over the head and she was knocked unconscious.

The woman's friend told police she searched for the woman when she did not return from the bathroom.

The woman told police when she woke up she thought she may have been sexually assaulted, but had no memory of what happened to her.

Police confirm she was assaulted. A sexual assault examination was performed at a local hospital, but the evidence from it is not yet available.

Grapevine Police tell CBS 11 News there have been no similar cases in the city.

Usually it's the opposite. Look at crime rates in Washington DC.

Just FYI, even though there are 30.06 signs at the mall entrances (although I haven't gone up to them, measured the letter height, etc.), the other entrances (from stores such as Sun & Ski Sports) are NOT posted.

Well thats the grey area. If you can prove that you did not know the building was posted then go for it. I figure Ill just do my shopping somewhere else that allows me to protect myself.

It seems you don't have to prove that you did not know, but rather they have to prove you did.

IMHO

I don't know that it's so much as proving you DID know, only the effective notice was given.

"Well, we put up signs all over the place, we did our part. not our fault he didn't see'em!"

just my "err on the side of caution" opinion.
