Good day at the Gun Show

Just gotta celebrate a bit...
Went to the gun show today with Thane. Each of us had "trade or sell fodder" with us, just in case. No plans to buy anything unless we were able to sell what we took.
I lucked out, thanks to my observant son. Thane found a rifle that I'd been wanting for a couple years, and the dealer was willing to trade for my Remington 760 in .308 plus a few bucks.
I still feel like I robbed him.
I am now the proud owner of a Winchester Model 88 in .308.
Serial number says it was manufactured in 1957, and aside from a few dings in the stock it's in really good condition for its age. (I think it's in better shape than I am!) Came with an older 3X by 9X Redfield scope on a low Weaver mount.
The length of pull is a bit long for me, but that's easy enough to fix if I decide it needs it after our first "range date."
I had several people, including a couple of other dealers, offer to buy it from me - especially after they learned what I'd paid for it. One dealer that we're good friends with pointed his finger at me and said "Bang! Bang!" after I'd grinned and told him "my cold, dead hands!" (He did give it back to me after
over it for a couple minutes
)
Here's hoping it's as sweet a shooter as my 88 in .243.
(sorry no pics - my camera needs batteries and my computer isn't recognizing my cell phone right now...
