What's the 411 on '504' ?

I'm not sure if anyone on this forum has mentioned this before....
FYI, I was asked this question repeatedly at this past weekend's HGCA show in Houston... "What's this '504' I keep seeing on all these gang-looking types?
Usually it appears on clothing or hats on young men, usually in groups of at least 4. I had about 10 CHL's and 3 FFL's ask me the question.
'504' happens to be the telephone area code for NO,LA. These guys are evacuees . And they are not part of a gang or posse , but a "Crue/Krewe(?)".
Of course, if you watch the Houston evening news, you are pretty much up to speed. '504' is a pretty good tip off to be very alert.
Of course, some folks are just proud of where they are from and want to go home, but just be aware, some are not (as the increasing crime levels in the Houston area show). And they are usually very well armed - as I can bear witness to AR's, 870's , glocks , etc. Some spent their FEMA money very well.
