Well folks, I just could not stomach the price of a “system� I am sure they are great, but I’ll put that money towards ammo.

$5.36 (after tax)
2 yards heavy duty 1� elastic
12 brass grommets with set tool
1 hr of my time

Easy to see what I did, ran the elastic around the gun, lined it up with 1� of overhang elastic, set grommet, screwed into wall of safe inner door, glued overhanging elastic back over screw/grommet.









NOTE: if I did it again, only one strap needs to be elastic, I think it would work better if one loop was webbing, and hang more vertically so more weight in on one strap. This was so cheap and easy I may replace ½ of my work with webbing (webbing is what you might see as the strap on a backpack or luggage)

Note #2: I used a lot more material then I thought, 2 yards = 4 guns, (I wanted to hang 6,,,) each gun was around 16� of material,

I think that is extremely clever, ingenious, and shows great foresight on your part in how you keep yourself organized!

I was thinking of this very thing this weekend, and my only concern was what this might impact on any function (locking mechanism), or effect it may have on the UL rating on the fire resistant qualities of any safe that we own...

Obviously some have already done this, and I might only have to drill a few holes in the door to mine to hang the "few" pistols I have to mount a few generic holsters for my collection...

The only thing I can imagine to do to quell any personal concerns, would be to get to the manufacturer and ask them the obvious...To which I figure they are going to come back with a panic, and say please don't drill anything thru the inside panel of the door for whatever reason...blahhhhhh...

I do not have a nice felt liner on the inside of my door, so I might not have the same challenges as other have on this...So all I have to do is spot where I need to drill, let the self tapping screws do the work and hang pistols to my hearts content...

Just thought I would throw this out for general consumption...

Just and idea...You might consider using one solid piece of heavy fabric, attached to the door, to rivet the grommets to. The system that I ordered with my safe could be made for a lot less at home. It basically involves a piece of heavy duty velcro fabric. A metal dowel slides through a sleeve or pocekt in the fabric and two flat hooks attache it at the top and bottom of the safe, and keep it pretty tight, so it doesn't sway around. Even if you used grommets at the top edges of the fabric and screwed it to the door that would require less drilling and fewer holes in your door. It will also alow for easier removal in the event that a locksmith has to reset your combo or perform othe maintenance. depending on your safe design it might even be possible to just use or replace a few of the screws on the inside of the door with longer screw sallowing room for the fabric or grommets. the one advantage I see with the velcro is it give you the option to repostion things as your collection changes / grow. I'll see if i can take a picture of mine to show you what I mean
