Look what followed me home!

So I went to my first gun show today. It was the Saxet show here in Austin, and boy it sure was crowded.
I went with the purpose of finding a Ruger LCP and looking to see what else was available from my want list. It ended up that there were two LCPs for sale in the entire place, and I ended up buying one from a guy for $375 in total. My first impressions are similar to what everyone else is reporting: nice finish and fit, smooth action and trigger pull. I will say that the LCP is MILES ahead of the P3AT in grip comfort. The P3AT hurts my hands just holding it, while the LCP (though small) fits pretty naturally and comfortably.
Here she is:
I looked around for a Bulgarian AK as well as a Rock Island Tactical, but had no luck. I eyed the tactical shotguns, but didn't come across anything that seemed like a particularly good deal. I finished my perusing and dropped by Academy to get some ammo for my new pistol. As I looked over the boxes of ammo, a Remington 870 Express Synthetic 18" 7-round shotgun started calling to me. I took a bit to think it over, and decided I would give her a good home. I needed a shotgun anyway.

Here she is with her new little sister:
Today was a good day. Tomorrow I take my new babies to the range for a little exercise.

What time did you go to the show? I was there around 10:30 and saw a Bulgarian AK for sell at the RPG Arms booth.
I was there for one purpose - to scope out AJC Sports for a good price on a Kimber Pro TLE or Pro Carry - not much of a selection today - oh well - there's always San Antonio in two weeks.
Anyway, congrats on the new additions! The LCP is hard to find right now...

I got there at around 11:00.
Yes, I did see that Bulgarian, but it was in .223. I specifically want a 7.62x39. So I suppose there was that one, but it was in the wrong caliber.
I agree that selection was somewhat limited today. Everyone seemed to have the GI model Rock Island, but I couldn't find a Tactical in the entire show.

Maybe the Houston Gun Collectors show at the Reliant took most of their (AJC's) inventory this weekend.

Now remember, having a pet is a serious responsibility. You have to keep them fed, and oiled. And I'm not going to clean up after them for you! I don't believe that they just "followed you home", but we're going to trust you and give you this chance to prove you're responsible enough for a pet. And if you take really good care of these, maybe, your mother and I will buy you a pony later! Seriously, good purchases! I hope you enjoy the LCP. Can't wait for the range report. Congrats!

I did an initial range report in the current LCP thread going on:

Next time I get to the range, I'll give a more extensive report, but that thread has my initial impressions and observations.

Wow. Local gun shop where I live had the LCP for $270 (plus tax). Not there now, wonder if he can get another one for the same price. I would have bought the LCP if I didn't already have a P3AT. Richard (the gun store owner) had good price on a PT1911, which I did buy. Will keep going to his place...
