A certain officer I know, not going to mention my name here , responded from the jail to a 911 disturbance call. Got there and had to go hands on a little. Got the situation under control, and went to rest my arm on my gun. Do you know how hard it is to rest your arm on your gun when it is 5 miles away in a gun locker???

Don't be that guy. Gunfighting 101 teaches us to always have a gun at least. Guess I'm a slow learner.

Gives a whole new meaning to "long arm of the law".

It also gives validation to carrying a back-up gun.

Back in the day when...
a couple of co-workers (deputies) did the same thing ! We heard about it during shift briefing as a training lesson. In this case (county wide) the gun locker at jail was about 20 miles away. Pride and ego were the only injuries. :)

This also brings to mind a line from the original Godfather movie .... I won't quote it here. But Baytown, ask me tomorrow, I'll tell you what it is. You might be too young to remember it!
