I may be just blowing in the wind....

I can not seem to find much information on the Sig 220 Compact SAO. Does anyone in here have any experience with this handgun? What about a SAO trigger on any Sig?

Please let me know....

have you rented it out at your local range? I have a P220 Carry, which is the same as the P220 only with a shorter barrell/slide. The compact has a smaller grip with smaller capacity magazine, but has the beavertail. I've shot both the full size, carry, and the compact. I like the beavertail on the compact, it helps compensate for the shorter grip with respect to the recoil

If you're considering to carry, I think the 220s are just too big. I keep my 220 carry as my bedside gun, but can't imagine actually carrying it around.

Out of the box, I think Sig has very good single action triggers, but I'd recommend you try to rent one if you can and try it out yourself. Sorry that's the best advice I can give :headscratch

Thanks for your input.....does not appear that many have any experiences with the Sig.

I was just curious. I have been looking at the Kimber Pro Series - I will most likely stick with what I know.....

You've gotten so few replies that I thought I would give it a go, although I'm limited in what I can add.

One of my two main carry guns is a Sig P220 Carry Equinox. I looked at the 220 Compact, but short grip guns just don't work with my large hands. The Sig fits me and I'm more accurate and confident with it. The trigger is a big reason for that. Right out of the box it was pretty darn good compared to most non 1911s. But now that I've broken it in, it's even better. It's crisp, with an acceptable amount of take up, and IMO just the right amount of pull for a carry gun of this sort. Of the dozen or so non 1911 semi-auto pistols I own, I'd say it has the best trigger.

It's comfortable and conceals extremely well for me, but I am a big man and often wear untucked shirts. I put the ultra slim Hogue aluminum grips on it, wear it in a KD Defender or a Blade Tech UCH, and use a good stiff gun belt which really makes a difference. I don't mind the weight.

BTW, you mention the Kimber Pro, I have a Pro CDP. It's a great gun and I don't think you'd be disappointed. Admittedly, the trigger on a good 1911 like the Kimber, is hard to beat.

We got our first batch of SAO 220's about a month ago and we have been very impressed. I have had the pleasure of shooting almost every one that we have sold and now when the next batch comes in, I will be adding one to my own stable of pistols. I can honestly say ALL buyers have not been disappointed! The trigger is smooth and the ergonomics of the firearm are great for the hand. Buyers have ranged from newbies to the guy with a Les Baer and Ed Brown in his range bag and everyone has walked away with a smile on their face!
