Memorial Day

As I step back from the usual banter and discussions on this board, I want to express my deepest gratitude to the many men and women, all brave patriots who gave their lives to maintain the freedoms I enjoy. Their selfless sacrifices are continuing to this very minute as our fine military continues with the war on terror and the struggle to bring more people under the umbrella of liberty.
Most people will go about their 3 day weekend without even remembering the intent of this holiday. Many include living veterans in the celebration, and we appreciate the thought. We prefer that they remember our fallen brothers and sisters on eternal watch or patrol. Their blood has stained most foreign lands, their graves reside in the crushing depths of the seven seas, those rusting hulks a reminder of the ultimate sacrifice. Their efforts will not be in vain as long as we continue to defend the constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic, as we swore to do at enlistment, so help us God.
I do not believe that the oath ever expires.
You are not forgotten.
