A Message from TSRA's Alice Tripp

Here is a message I just received from Alice Tripp concerning the Brady Campaign. This is everything we have fought against for years and it shows Brady's "wish-list."

Thought you might want to review the Brady's Texas score card, what they think is important.

This is just a reminder of what we fight and will continue to fight, regardless of who heads our state or heads our country.

Their list is intentionally confusing and lacking in numerous facts.

I guess I'm in a self-punishing mood today since I just finished watching some Helmke youtube bits...I'm glad to see the 'abysmal' score we have on their site. Let's try 'harder'. :evil2:

I like my Alice Tripp signature line; been using it for a couple of months now. ;-)

The NRA ILA summarized how meaningful those 2007 ratings are (Brady scores are 1-100, with 100 being "best"):
- California, the state that Brady gave its highest score (79), has total violent crime and murder rates 14% and 23% higher than the rest of the country, respectively. Brady didn't score D.C., which has even more gun control and higher crime rates than California.

- Of the 38 states Brady gave 20 or fewer points, most have total violent crime, murder and robbery rates that are below the national rates.

- States that have total violent crime, murder and robbery rates that are below the national rates got an average of 19, 19 and 14 Brady points, respectively.

- The 10 states with the lowest total violent crime, murder and robbery rates got an average of 12, 12 and 9 Brady points, respectively.
Hm. What's wrong with this picture?

my personal fav is this one:

SHOOT FIRST
Is deadly force allowed to be a first resort in public? Yes
Texas - The state does allow the use of deadly force as a first resort in public. This dangerous law permits the average citizen to bypass our entire justice system by permitting him or her to assume the role of police officer, prosecutor, judge, and executioner. :patriot:

I like the option of shooting first, most people don't get a chance to shoot second

Like in Golf, the Brady scores are better lower. :rules:

The way I see it is Texas swung a birdie. Now to swing again for the Eagle :txflag: :thumbs2:

LIMITS ON CONCEALED HANDGUN PERMITS
May police limit carrying concealed handguns? No

State law forces police chiefs and state sheriffs to give concealed carry permits (CCW) to anyone who can buy a handgun, allowing them to carry loaded, concealed handguns in public (known as shall issue). Some safety training in the legal or safe use of weapons is required to obtain the CCW permit. State law allows residents of some other states to carry concealed weapons in this state without informing local police.
SOME training? They call a 10-hour course and enough rounds downrange to pass the qualification SOME training? What do they want? A Bachelor's in practical shooting? IPSC Grand Master?

I find it funny that the Brady Bunch aren't after open carry, preferring instead to go after concealed carry. I guess they are of the opinion that even residents of OC states are making enough racket to keep it at the forefront of debate without their help.
