I am going to take my CHL class in July/August and wanted to know if I should go ahead and submit my DPS application now? Or should I just take the class then to the application?

Submitting an application without a TR-100 won't do you much good.

Welcome to the forum.

Are you referring to applying online?

The advantages of applying online are that you can pay by credit card (which is charged immediately) and get a PIN immediately.

The disadvantage of applying online is that you can make a mistake that you will have to correct later.

It's your choice.

:iagree:

Then you can begin your hourly status check as soon as you receive your certified mail postcard back. That way you can increase your stress and aggravation time from 30-40 days to at least 60 or more. :banghead:

It is at the top of the completed CHL Web Application that the DPS mails to you.

I got my PIN immediately from the web site when I filled out my online app.

well, I mailed in the "complete CHL web application" to DPS.

Oh well I guess I won't be able to check the status all the time.

That's not necessarily a bad thing. Once you get that flippin PIN, the tendency is to check it 500 times a day.
