Hands Down the Rohrbaugh it is 9mm and has a great trigger pull. The cost is terrible, but I got mine on a trade. :woohoo

To give you an idea of the difference in price...

MSRP for the LCP is $330. They're hard to get a hold of right now, and I bought mine at a premium for $375.

Auctions for the Rohrbaugh on gunbroker are starting at $1150.

I wish you hadn't posted this, Carl.

Why?

WHY?

My budget doesn't need a new pocket gun...

Ouch, and I just bought an LCP. ;-)

Well, I just added the R9 to my wishlist, despite the hefty price tag.

I guess I don't notice the price because of a trade on a pistol that I have had for about 5 years. I don't think I would have ever counted out that many dollars, but it sure is nice. I just thought I liked the Ruger.

Carl, how is the Rohrbaugh's reliability, and is it a handful, or is it fairly easy to shoot?

Only dry fired it, but its reputation is superb. It feels good in the hand. I also carry a S&W 340PD and I promise you nothing can hurt that bad :evil2: About 15 rounds of magnum rounds I go to .38's. I am unable to go to the range for a little while, but will give a range report.

I am disappointed to read that you cannot use +P or +P+. At the MSRP for this little pistol it should fire anything. :blowup

Oh Carl! Don't I remember not too long ago you said it would be tough to pay that much for such a small pistol?! :biggrinjester: Of course, it could have been someone else, but I really thought it was you! Although, since you got it in trade, it doesn't really count does it? ;-) Seriously though, I really hope you like it. I've been pretty anxious to get one myself, but got the new Kimber Ultra Covert II instead. I still intend to get one, one of these days. I like the idea of 9mm in a slighlty larger than pocket .380 size. I've read mostly praises about it, and very few negatives. I found a Rohrbaugh forum online when I was searching for information on them. It's pretty interesting, and they seem to have alot of good information if you're interested. It's http://www.rohrbaughforum.com, I'm on there as well with the same name, although, I very rarely post anything, and seldom visit. The Rohrbaugh has quite the following! Good luck, and I can't wait for the range report! I'd like to think that my posting about the R9 a while ago had something to do with the interest in it. Haha, just kidding! :thumbs2:

I really doubt they can get it down to compete with the Rohrbaugh size-wise, but it would not surprise me at all if Ruger hits the market with a mini 9mm by this time next year ...

I don't mean to highjack the thread from the Rohrbaugh 9mm.

FWIW I picked up a LCP a few weeks ago at Academy. The only reason I was able to get my hands on one was that I happened to call as they were unloading the truck. Academy raised the price of the LCP from $285 to $300 on the day I bought mine.

Regarding how it shoots, all I can say is yuck! On this weapon, you pull the trigger, the hammer falls, ... wait for it, then bang! The trigger is not a crisp break and there seems to be a lag until it fires. Of course it could be that my lightning quick 56 year old reflexes are too much for this little guy. ;-)

With all that being said, I like it, I carry it, it's a BUG, and I can hit the broad side of a barn with it.

Back to the Rohrbaugh, more power in the same size package is a +1.

I probably did, but I am disabled with a disease :rolll
