I will be going to Texas Children's in the morning early. Never been there.
Anyone know for sure if it is posted.
Went to Methodist about 1.5yr ago & it was but probably not quit legal. I dont want to be a test case though.

IIRC, all hospitals in Texas are posted, I've never seen one that wasn't.

46.035 (4) on the premises of a hospital licensed under
Chapter 241, Health and Safety Code, or on the premises of a nursing
home licensed under Chapter 242, Health and Safety Code, unless the
license holder has written authorization of the hospital or nursing
home administration, as appropriate;

Hope that whomever you're visiting has a speedy recovery.

That is not true. I have been in 2 hospitals that were not posted. And the ones that are owned by the government cannot enforce a posting.

A common error though. :tiphat:

If you read way down the page you will find a "defense to prosecution" for haveing a CHL.
They have to post a 30-06 sign to keep an armed CHL holder out.

OK, thanks for the enlightenment. I hope to have no reason to visit a hospital.

Longtooth, IT WILL BE POSTED...... Trust me. If I were you, I would be more worried about finding a place to park! Here is a tip: Before you get there, put your gun in your trunk and then drive up to the valet parking. It cost about the same to valet park as the parking garages. Just make sure that you call the valet about twenty minutes before you leave.

I have a lock box. I figured it would be & locking it in the truck is what I was planning on doing.
Thanks for the Vallet parking tip. Did not know that. :tiphat:

Greetings LT--

You may not see this before you head this direction--

I havent been in TCH, although I woark across the street, but my guess is its posted. Many of the facilities in the Med Center are.

Parking-- its worth every penny to Vallet park-- Especially for first time and infrequent visitors. Parking anywhere in the Med Center is painful.

Safe travels--

Thanks gentlemen.
Trip got cancelled. I am not sorry.
The one thing I have learned is the tip of Vallet parking. :tiphat:

The trouble with the valet parking is that they take forever to get your car for you. A wait of 20 minutes was pretty typical in my experience.

I learned to try parking at the Clinical Care Center, directly to the south of TCH. I was always able to find a parking spot there, even though I did have to drive around until I found one. There is a bridge to the TCH so you don't have to walk across the road, IIRC.

If I had to go to the medical center, I'd park somewhere on Main Street north of the Museum District and take the choo-choo. The traffic in that area is as bad as the parking.

I always had good luck finding parking in the St. Luke's garage when my Grandfather was there for his stroke. Of course it was in the evenings during the week.

I believe they are now. After the fiasco with the Nurse who carried against policy, they ave recently put up new valid 30.06 signs. :banghead:
