870 + 870 = 1740

What happens when you wed a right hand 870 and a left hand 870?

Frankly, I wouldn't want to be the one shooting that monster!

AEA, sure you would. You have to shoot every gun. Jut once, to keep your man card.

Afterward you just walk it off, rub some dirt on it.

Should be no problem if you're strong enough to lift it. It shoots the same 12ga rounds as a normal 870 and it looks like has twice as much weight to help absorb the recoil. Probably easier on the shoulder than a typical double barrel shotgun.

Do you sight down the ribbed barrel or the un-ribbed barrel? Or, do you just shoot with both eyes open and the stock pressed against your throat? :confused5

Would probably make shooting doubles easier. I never could get those things to break.

Firing singles would be softer recoil than a regular 870, because of the weight.

He says in that thread that firing both barrels isn't unpleasant, about like firing a regular 870.

I know a guy out in Oregon that has an 8 gauge ( ) 870 kiln gun, cut to 18.5". Better him than me!

There's some videos running around on the net that show a guy shooting a 4 gauge, I'll watch someone shoot it, but I'm not gonna touch the thing!

From THR:
I thought I might as well share the beginnings of my 1740 project. I got this idea a long time ago while playing Doom, or Duke Nukem, or one of those horribly cheesy gut-blaster shooting games. I thought to myself, "Could it be possible to have a double barrel pump action gun?"

is it production or custom made??
do you have to switch hands back and forth to operate the 2 triggers or are they tied together in some way????

All of that is explained in the links provided above, most recently by KC5AV in the last post before yours.
