Bud Gillett GARLAND (CBS 11 News) ―
Police in Garland are trying to identify the person/persons that they believe committed a string of random shootings.
Sunday afternoon police were called to the 2400 block of Beltline Road where a four-door sedan had apparently been shot at several times. The 22-year-old male driver had been shot in the hand, a 20-year-old female passenger received cuts from broken glass and a 4-month-old girl was covered with broken glass but uninjured.
The driver of the sedan told police he was stopped at a red light at Buckingham and Shiloh when he 'heard gunfire and bullets started coming through his car and windows'.
All three people in the vehicle were taken to Parkland Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Later Sunday night Garland police received a call saying a 37-year-old man had been shot on Walnut, just east of Plano Road. The shooting circumstances appeared to be similar, with the man saying he and his 9-year-old son were sitting at a red light when someone started firing at his pickup.
The man was taken to Baylor University Medical Center with a gunshot wound to the abdomen and is expected to recover. His son wasn't injured.
After those two incidents Garland Police later learned that just after 10:00pm Sunday there was a report of a vehicle being shot at in Mesquite. That incident happened as the driver exited Interstate-635 and Oates Drive. No one was injured in the shooting.
According to police the same basic description was given in all three shooting incidents – the shots were fired by a man driving a small dark-colored vehicle. Police believe the suspect fired a pistol at each shooting.
Garland Police ask that anyone with information about the incidents or the identity of the person/persons involved call the Garland Crime Stoppers tipline at 972-272-TIPS.

Wildscar: Sure you can keep a gun in your car.
Remember, 30.06 only applies if you are carrying a gun under authority of your CHL.
You can carry a handgun in your car without a CHL.

It's not that I want to take away any superman powers we get from having a CHL, but I feel the need to ask how having a handgun in the vehicle with me is going to keep me from getting shot in a random drive by shooting while driving down the street?

I highly doubt it would be advisable or condoned if you returned fire either
It might make you feel better..but not good

I would not return fire unless I knew for sure where the shots came from and had a good site picture. I'm not the type of guy thats going to go firing back into a crowd of people just cause I think the guys over there. Guess I should have elaborated on those points.

Reporting
Jay Gormley GARLAND (CBS 11 News) ―
Richardson police believe a recent incident is connected to a series of random roadway shootings.
Miguel Miralrio of Garland was at a stop light at the intersection of Jupiter and Arapaho around 5 p.m. Monday afternoon.
Police say a gunman driving in a dark-colored compact car, possibly a Honda Civic or Accord, was turning at the intersection. The driver fired three shots into Miralrio's Ford Explorer before speeding away. Miralrio, 32, was not injured.
Detectives now believe the shooting is tied to two shootings in Garland and one shooting in Mesquite. All three of those shootings happened Sunday.
According to police, in all four shootings, the same basic description was given: shots were fired by a man driving a small dark-colored vehicle. Police believe the suspect fired a pistol at each shooting.
Garland police ask that anyone with information about the incidents or the identity of the person/persons involved call the Garland Crime Stoppers tipline at 972-272-TIPS.

Maybe get close enough to get the license, make, and model of the vehicle -- cell phone to 911.
No reason to
Joe Horn it.
Joe was legal, but who wants all that paperwork?

Good lord...this guy needs to be stopped. I read the story. Fools didn't say if he was Black, white or hispanic. The lady says she saw him. They need to knock of the political correct garbage and give us a description of this scum.

You know something else I just thought of. If he was on the tollway, they have cameras at the toll booths. They should be able to look at the pics from that time frame and find this guy. He had to cross through a toll booth after pulling this crap. He either has a toll tag...which should also be trackable from when the cars went through the booths registering a charge. He stopped and paid a toll...or he ran through it. If he stopped, they should have him on one of the video surveilance cams they use to monitor the booths.
