New source for quality ammo at great prices.

This is a heads up for all shooters in the Houston/Texas City/Galveston area.
I know that many of you, like me, were more than disappointed when T's guns and ammo (Roy and Pat Tipton) went out of business a few months ago. I have been shooting their ammo for half of my life. Major bummer to pull up in thier parking lot one day and see the Out of Business sign on the door. I'm happy for them and I hope theye enjoy thier retirement they have certainly earned it. But what are we, the sweaty masses supposed to do for quality fairly priced ammo?!?
Rejoyce my brothers and sisters. We now have R&R AMMO. This is a new business being started by Keith and Ericka, a serious and hard working couple that want to provide quality ammo etc to the good folks in and around the Houston/Texas City/Galveston area. They are just getting the thing off the ground and thier current shop is small but well set up with great machinery and equipment. They are friends of the Tiptons and they are currently working on a deal to acquire thier old location on Palmer. I sure hope they get it.
I met Keith at a gunshow a few weeks back and was very very impressed. I'm old and cranky and very picky about where I lay my money down. but I was immediately impresses with this young fella. Now that I've been to thier shop and seen thier set up and met his wife and mother in law I am even more convinced. Thier prices under cut all other retail that I am aware of and you can save even more by buying in bulk. I just bought 2500 round of assorted .45, .40, and 9mm and saved about 106 bux over his already cheaper-than-dirt prices.
Here is their info: 1211 6th Street in Texas City.

Ericka opens up about 12:30 PM and Keith gets off his day job and gets there about 4:00PM They are great folks and will treat you right.
Need ammo? Go check 'em out. They will be at the gun show in Pasadena this weekend as well.

Saw them at the last Pasadena show.
IIRC, they had .45 acp for about $13/50 or a couple of bucks below everyone else.
If they attend the July 12-13 Pasadena show, I'll take a better look.

They will be there. Stop and talk with Keith and see if you aren't as impressed with him as I was.

Interesting.
I'm anxious to see what folks think of their ammo.

Thanks for the head's up.
I'm looking to buy 500 rnds of low velocity, .38 wadcutters and was getting ready to order from MasterCast.net.
Better check with your friends first.

I gave them a call to ask about pricing. The lady I spoke with was very nice. She gave me pricing of 249.95 for 1000 rounds of 45acp, and I think 40s&w was about the same, not including tax. They are planning on being at the High Caliber show in Pasadena later this month.
It's always good to have a more local source for affordable ammo.

These are reloads or do they sell Factory Ammo?

I was looking for some of these at the Pasadena show a couple months back. They didn't have any.

I did buy a couple boxes of .38 JHP from Keith and Ericka for $13/box. I shot up one box and they worked fine.
I am hoping to find some light target loads .38 Special HBWC and .45ACP for my 1911s.

All that I saw were reloads.

Nice folks. I called them and chatted a bit today. Told them about this thread, too.
At this time they don't have low pressure .38 wadcutters, so it looks like I'll be buying 500 rnds from MasterCast and exchanging brass with my next order.

Sure wish I had remembered Mastercast. Just ordered 7000 bullets from Precision Bullets, and they don't have .38/.357. I could have put a "complete order together from Mastercast, and then taken a smooth 10% off the top. I would have saved some real bucks there. next time..

The question has been asked: "are these "re-loads?" Specifically they are "re-manufactured" It is not some guy watching football on tv reloading one at a time. They have some really great equipment and it is a first class set up. Right now they are using brass that has been used only once but eventually they will be using new brass. For all intents and purposes it is factory ammo. You can shoot it with complete confidence. Thier equipment and suppliers are all what T's used before they went out of business and I have been shooting that ammo for at least 40 years. No telling how many thousands of rounds in all calibers I have gone through and never, not even one time have I had a problem with any of them. The Glocks eat it up.
As far as the gunshow on the 12th and 13th I spoke with Ericka today and she told me that due to one thing and another they are not going to be able to make this show. She wanted me to extend thier apologies and said they plan on being back for the next one.

Based on what I was told, I'm not sure how much of T's equipment would have been available to them.
The story is:
The folks that were going to buy out Roy and Pat could not get enough financing to buy it all, so they bought the building.
So with the building full of T's equipment which they couldn't afford to buy, they started to charge Roy rent.
Understandable miffed, according to Roy, he made a few phone calls and sold equipment all over. Sort of a reloading 'fire sale'.
While R&R may have acquired some of this, it doesn't appear likely that they inherited Roy's entire setup.
None of this reflects on R&R's ability to turn out top shelf ammo.

Keith works a day time job and usually gets there just before 4PM. Ericka usually gets there around noonish. Sometimes she has to go after supplies etc so it's a little later.
But take heart. They are just getting this thing off the ground and there will be some growing pains. The good news is that they are working on getting T's old location on Palmer. Last I heard things were looking good on that deal.
You might try calling the number in the OP. If noone is there I think Keith told me the call rolls over to either his cell phone or hers. If they don't have what you want they will pro'lly be able to get it for you. As I said they don't have everything just yet so we will need a little patience here at first. Good hard working folks and soon the kinks will all be worked out.
