Freedom Over Texas (Houston)

Now, for the past 5 years we have attended "Chevy's Freedom Over Texas" I have carried every time without giving it a second thought since it falls under no legal restrictions. For some reason I just happened to look at the CFOT websire and found that the restrictions portion of the site prohibits "weapons". Again, I really don't give this a second thought, but considering the Police presence there (HPD), what would be the recourse that the event could take against me if discovered? Now before all of you start breaking your keyboards with the "Why I would be discovered?" replies, I'm just thinking in a worst case scenario. I'm thinking that they simply deny you entrance, correct? You tell an officer at the gate the situation, go to your vehicle and return with no issues.

I basically trying to get my wife's left eyebrow down after informing her that I have carried into the venue and asked her which piece she wanted to carry since she carries now as well.

Any thoughts are appreciated.

As long as you have your CHL and they don't have a legal 30.06 then you're good to go, at most if they find out you're packing they can ask verbally tell you, then you go put it in your car and you're all good.

I asked about this in a previous post. I wnted to hear from someone that had actually gone there. Now I am guessing there are no metal detectors. Good!
As long as I see no valid signage I will carry as always.

BTW, Thanks for this post. :anamatedbanana

I think they ought to replace the sign with a picture of a hippopotamus. It would have the exact same meaning for a CHL holder(no meaning at all), and would be much more visually appealing.
This one would do nicely

I remember reading somewhere that ghostbusters signs had meaning for people carrying illegally, however. Anyone have a link to that?
