Guess the democracy we fight for doesnt stand in NAZI forums! What ever happened to freedom of speech?

Banned for posting a listing of some pups he had for sale....... Im pretty sure Ill be the next to be banned, What ever happened to a system of checks and balances? :bigmouth :waiting: Hypocrites

Last night, when he posted, he posted the identical message in at least four different sub-forums.

Looking back at his posts, out of 85 posts still visible, there were only 6 where he wasn't buying or selling something.

He was only here for the classifieds!

He was told by KeithB not to post the pups in the weapons classifieds, Keith told him to find the appropriate area to post it. So he went to off topic and posted the pups for sale hoping to find them a good home with a forum member. He was charging 1/3 of what he charges any1 else. Off topic rules states its the place for posts that have no where else to go as long as they are not racist or vulgar!

My point was that he contributed very little, instead choosing to use the forum to buy and sell for his personal use.

And his initial post was duplicated in four topics, at the same time.

The rules are simple here. They should be followed.

Thats my point he did follow the rules, They asked him to move his post so he did! And nowhere does it say how much you must contribute, Granted its better if you do but it is not a rule just a preference. I have seen many a person use the classifieds to buy and sell while contributing very little elswhere. He was not the only one! Im just saying noone had the right to ban him for openly stating that he was manuvering within the rules. You cannot be arrested for breaking a law that does not exist but you can be banned for breaking a rule that never was! :smash: :confused5 :smash:

First Amendment does not apply here. No one has any right to say anything.

This forum belongs to Mr. Cotton, who strives to operate a wholesome and constructive site for the betterment of concealed carry.

Now this argument is over because I just looked at your prior posts. Until this thread, you only have one post that is not in the Firearms section.

So you're taking advantage of this forum in the same manner as your friend.

May I suggest that you consider contributing something useful?

Thank you Mike.
FugativeChaser, I could not have stated it better.
This thread is locked.

FugitiveChaser, your friend BrianM2004 did not tell you what really happened. Here is the real story.

He posted an offer to sell dogs which violates Rule 7 that allows only the sale of guns and gun-related items. His post was moved to the Moderator Forum and he was sent a PM telling him of the limits on what can and cannot be posted. He was not told he could post it anywhere else on the forum.

After receiving this PM, he blatantly violated Rule 7, ignored the polite PM he received reminding him of the rule, and posted the dogs for sale again. This time I moved this thread to the Moderators forum.

He then sent a PM to me, Keith and DMG complaining of being discriminated against. Without waiting for a reply, he had the audacity to post his "for sale" ad a third time, along with a complaint about one of our Moderators. He made yet another post (the 4th) giving a link to another board where he posted the dogs, along with a comment something like, "in case they delete this one, here is a link to . . ."

His PM to us did not contain any claim that he was told to post in the Off-Topic Section, or anywhere else. He did argue that the Off-Topic sub-forum was an appropriate place to post his "for sale" ad, but that is obviously absurd and he knew it. We have a Market Section and it lists the types of items that can be sold. Additionally, Forum Rule 7 further limits what can be sold. TexasCHLforum isn't going to become a flea market (no pun intended). If we let him post dogs for sale, how could we object is someone wanted to post a toaster?

Posts 3 and 4 were deleted and he was banned. Anyone who blatantly violates the rules three times, ignores a warning PM, sends less-than-cordial PM's to Moderators and publicly attacks a Moderator for enforcing the rules everyone else abides by will get banned every time! We occasionally have people violate the Market Section rule and their response to our PMs have always been good; typically apologizing for the mistake. brianM2004 chose to do otherwise.

That's what actually happened. Now, you can apologize to all of the Moderators and to the members for posting this garbage.

The irony in this is that, after his first post, the Moderators were considering creating a sub-forum in the Market Section for "Hunting Dogs" and being rather liberal as to what they would be hunting (ex. rabbits, food bowl). Too bad he couldn't have waited about another hour before being defiant.

A final note: Ordinarily I would never have postied something like this in the public portion of the forum. However, you have left me no choice. You decided to post this rather than send me a PM and your post has been on the forum for over 14 hours before I saw it. I'm not about to let our members think we treated anyone the way you claimed in your grossly inaccurate post. I realize you were relying upon brianm2004's version of the facts, but it would have been nice if you had tried to verify the story before posting.

Chas.

This kind of stuff gets under my skin. As the owner of a different forum myself, I've been called a Nazi several times before for having insisted on a) my rules being followed; and b) on my right as the guy who pays the bills to determine what they are in the first place.

First of all, it cheapens the meaning of the term "Nazi." Charles has not invaded Poland. He has not gassed the Jews. He has not burned any books. He has not made a treaty for convenience's sake, and then broken it as soon as the other guy's back was turned. He has not trampled the rights of hundreds of millions under a hob-nailed boot.

What people who call board owners "Nazis" fail to realize is that they are the guest of the owner. The owner pays for the hosting. The owner pays for the upkeep. The owner pays for, in some cases, the board software license. The owner pays for programming help when things go sour - and they always eventually go sour. The owner pays for all of that, and he or she never gripes about it - because they are gracious hosts - and they never, or almost never, ask their guests to help defray the costs. That there is real cash money that Charles could have chosen to spend on himself or a nice gift for his wife. Instead, he spends that money so that we can have a place to discuss the topics of this board. Show a little gratitude for Pete's sake!

The owner of a house has certain rights above and beyond those of his guests. GET. THIS. STRAIGHT. NOBODY violated Brianm2004's rights. He was free to say anything he wanted to, any time he wanted to - just not in Charles' house. It boggles my mind how many people just don't get this distinction.

Charles, I apologize if I am coming on too strong here, but I've been on the receiving end of this kind of nonsense too many times myself to have much patience with it when I see it happening to someone else. I would have done the same things you did, and handled it the same way you did.

:iagree: +1 and all that.

Well said! We have no right to expect anything from the board or the moderators. We are all the guests.
