Anygun Checking In

How ya doin'?

Just reporting in from the frozen northern neighbor Canada. The St Clare river outside my apartment is flowing ice from Lake Huron. The Canucks claim this has been a mild winter. I really don't want to experience a normal one.

I just sent Mrs. Anygun back to Texas. She came up for a few days to keep me company.

I manage to read the posts every so often and see many new posters. Nice to see the site is firmly established.

So far I have managed to stay safe. I have grown to appreciate situational awareness, especially since my only "little friend" is a very sharp knife and the weapon between my ears.

The best accomplishment so far is a conversion of a rabid Canadian anti-gunner who quickly accused us Americans of killing 14,000 "children" with firearms every year. I flooded his email with statistics gleaned from multiple sources including John Lott. The person never realized that firearms confiscation has resulted in the extermination of over 60 million innocent people world wide in recent history.

Calm, cool responses with the truth wins out every time.

I will be flying home to Texas April 8 in time (hopefully) for the birth of my first grandchild.

Stevie, Chas, Baytown, Gigag, Longtooth, and the rest of you fine gentlemmen be careful, and cherish the right to keep and bear arms.

I miss my Kimber and P3AT bug.

I'm jonesin' for a chicken fried steak and some BBQ. You know, the slow smoked over mesquite stuff that is so sorely lacking in my diet.

The salsa up here is embarassing.

Anygunanywhere. Except Canada, eh.

What do you think Canadians miss when they come here? Frozen rivers? Butt deep snow?

I will take you up on it. A friend from League City who is up here working with me was talking about some Red River BBQ (FM518 and FM270 in LC) over dinner. When I get back, I'll buy.

Sorry for my gender deficiency. I should have included you CHL ladies too. BTW, welcome to the forum. This site is far better now that we have regular feminine contributors.

Good to hear from you! Try some Chinese over there. They are better than the ones down here. I used to frequent Toronto, and that is all we ate when we were up there. lol. We'll see you when you get back.

Now this is a step up from funny to real funny.

Anygun - plug the forum a caribou or moose or some other large beast while you're up there. We can mount it and hang it on the homepage.

Also - go hit some good runs at whistler.

Anygun,
Glad to here from you and know you are safe and not an ice cube yet. Let me know when you are comming back and I'll try to make it down. If so, I'll buy the BBQ.

Anygun,
I too am suffering from "lack of ballast discomfort" while here on assignment in Great White North. Slipping and sliding to work each day seems more treacherous than negotiating the public.
I "found" a piece of fried chicken last week and inhaled it so I understand the jonesing.
Many of the Canadians I have met here tell me they own handguns but are certainly not allowed to carry, can only have them in a controlled shooting environment (range, farm) and can not carry for hunting, PERIOD.
Blessings for the Grandbaby.
