Denton Pizza Shop Robbery Doesn't Go As Planned

An attempted robbery of a pizza shop in Denton didn't go according to plan at all. The BG got carried away with the tough guy act and slapped an employee, who responded by punching the BG unconscious. He subsequently came to and fled, but was pursued and followed by 3 citizens who banded together to help and was arrested a few minutes later. The good guys are all OK. The BG is apparently OK too, but a little sorer, and less free to go about his normal course of business as a guest of Denton County.

Here's a link to the security camera video. (Note once again that the presence of a security camera does not prevent violent crime.):

The only problem I has is that the girl pulls the other employee off the BG.

The young lady's decision to restrain her fellow employee from striking the bandit again may have had something to do with the fact that the bandit was her father.
As it turns out, the girl's mother and husband were coincidentally seated in the truck outside that her dad got into when he fled the scene.
According to her husband, the young lady wasn't involved. Of course I believe that.

Could just be an innocent mistake in interpreting the observation that a family that
preys together stays together.
Just goes to show that sometimes spelling can be really important.

And to think, just one CHL could have cleaned up a huge blot on the gene pool.

DENTON, Texas -- Denton police will not file charges against a clerk whose parents and husband were charged with robbing the pizza restaurant where she worked, officials said.
Police said the clerk, Stephanie Martinez, didn't know they planned to rob the Pizza Patron Friday night.
While the robbery was in progress, Martinez discovered her father was the robber when another clerk struck him, knocking him out and knocking off his wig and sunglasses. He was later apprehended after witnesses followed the getaway pickup.
"Her husband told us she didn't know. He knew they were going to rob someplace but he thought it was going to be a convenience store," police Sgt. James Brett said in a story in Monday's online editions of the Denton Record-Chronicle.
A surveillance video corroborated Martinez's story. A police report shows the trio was in custody within 14 minutes of the robbery.
Jose Miguel Martinez, 26, was charged with aggravated robbery and is free on $50,000 bail. Benjamin Ramirez, 41, and Sonia Palacios, 38, are both charged with aggravated robbery. Bail was set at $50,000 each, but they are being held without bail on immigration violations.

The rot runs through that entire family.
