I heard earlier today, second-hand from the local chief of police, that there's talk of abolishing Texas' CHL. Has anyone heard anything? Sounds like a really bad idea to me!!

For years I've heard talk about making it legal for any citizen in good standing to carry. Its all just talk though.

Not a chance of the CHL statute being repealed. Don't worry.

I wouldn't worry at all if they'd just repeal all of PC Chapter 46.

The State of TEXAS gets a lot of revenue from us CHL's. They won't give up this cash-cow.

The cash bonanza will eventually dry up in the aftermath of Heller. States will only be able to recover actual costs of administering CHL programs. More litigation in years to come. Oh Happy Day for those in the legal juggernaut.

The only talk I've heard of abolishing Texas' CHL law involves moving to a Vermont/Alaska carry situation . . . which is probably just wishful thinking.
