Is there anything I need to sign or fill out to put this coverage in effect or is it truly "automatic"?

Does anyone have any experience with actually filing a claim against this policy?

I just got my new member packet in the mail, and there was a form to sign and return to activate the policy. I guess a signature is required to legally opt in for a policy, but there is no additional fee. You probably can call to see if they'll send you a form or just take oral consent. Mine went in the mail yesterday. I really like how they don't require serial numbers or makes/models. My current insurance company wanted all information on my firearms, only covered $500, and still had a $500 deductable, so I passed on it.

Yeah, i didn't remember getting a sheet like that in my packet so I just called member services and asked them about it. They confirmed my coverage for me right over the phone, nothing to sign. :)

I love the NRA :)
