I created a business card with the correct wording along with "30.06" in a 1" high font. This way I can easily check the scale of the font, even if it's the correct wording.

btw, is it just coincidental that the statute(or whatever) is a rifle cartridge? I think it's kind of humorus myself, but I have a weird sense of humor.

I should have gotten lower to the ground to make sure I had good contrast.

As I was waiting around for my CHL class to start, I kept hearing the guys in front of me talking about places being posted with 30.06 signs. At the time I had no idea what a 30.06 sign was, knew a business could post "no guns" signs, but didn't know what they were called or anything.
So I'm hearing them and kept thinking, "Why would anyone advertise they have a 30.06?"

Nothing in Spanish? So this would be an "invalid" 30.06 sign according to the letter of the law?
It still concerns me that I might find myself the "test case" for a DA pushing the "intent" of the law.

The Spanish is actually on the other door. This was the bottom pane of a glass door going into a bank.
Here is the Spanish.

What confuses me is this - if a business posts a "30.06" sign, legal or not, they're still stating their wishes for those with Concealed Carry licenses to stay out while carrying. While the sign may not be legal, their stance is pretty clear - they are asking you to leave, without actually approaching you in person. Why would someone simply ignore the sign because it's not obeying the letter of the law in the manner it's posted? Or even worse, enter via another entrance that might not actually be posted to claim plausible deny ability?
Sorry if this is off-topic, but it seems like a good place ask this since it's in-line with the thread discussion.

So then what makes this a NON 30.06 sign? Is the font too small? What am I missing here?
Re-read the sign and answered my own question. This must be an old sign?

My guess is the exact reference to the law has been updated since the sign was posted? Dunno, just my guess.
http://www.txdps.state.tx.us/administration/crime_records/chl/signposting.htm wrote:"PURSUANT TO SECTION 30.06, PENAL CODE (TRESPASS BY HOLDER OF A LICENSE TO CARRY A CONCEALED HANDGUN) A PERSON LICENSED UNDER SUBCHAPTER H, CHAPTER 411, GOVERNMENT CODE (CONCEALED HANDGUN LAW), MAY NOT ENTER THIS PROPERTY WITH A CONCEALED HANDGUN."
"CONFORME A LA SECCIÓN 30.06 DEL CÔDIGO PENAL (TRASPASAR PORTANDO ARMAS DE FUEGO) PERSONAS CON LICENCIA BAJO DEL SUB-CAPITULO H, CAPITULO 411, CODIGO DE GOBIERNO (LEY DE PORTAR ARMAS), NO DEBEN ENTRAR A ESTA PROPIEDAD PORTANDO UN ARMA DE FUEGO."

we can start a new thread if that's preferred, but I'd also be interested in other opinions on entering places with non-compliant signs.

Should people obey
this sign or a "Whites Only" sign?

Maybe I missed something...?
"Hey Mr. _ag, we don't like what you stand for. Please leave."
Is he required by law to leave? NO
"Hey Mr. Concealed Carry person - we don't like that you're carrying a firearm. Please leave."
Is he required by law to leave? YES
My original question was - you're still receiving writting notice that your armed presence is not appreciated - even if the written posting does not obey the letter of the law. It's still notifying you. Sorry, maybe this deserved its own thread. I've been meaning to ask this for quite a while.

Let me try again.

I can say the same thing about this sign.

Boomerang - I'm not sure what you're trying to prove. Those signs you're posting are obviously inflammatory, and distasteful. But the person on the receiving end of those signs is not bound by law to abide by them - a rope and a tree, that's another issue... A CHL holder, on the other hand, is receiving written notification that their armed presence is not welcomed. When relating to CHL, there is actually legal backing that a license holder must abide by.
One has the law on their side, one has a mob.
One sign is able to be defended in court, the other is not.
Again, maybe I missed the purpose of your posts, though I don't think I did - it just seems like you're trying to compare apples and oranges.
If a 30.06 sign does not follow the letter of the law in the way it was posted, in my opinion, it's still providing written notice and is best left unchallenged while armed. Legally having the sign removed, or corrected sounds like the more appropriate action than just simply ignoring it.
Someone please feel free to step in with a legal response. While racism photos are thought provoking, they're not directly related to the current thread involving firearms and Texas Concealed Carry laws.
