Emergency Phone Out of Order

I just had to post these pictures I took today at the Baylor All Saints Womens hospital's parking garage. More proof that we can not always rely on others to provide us with protection.
Just the irony that one of the things many people are told to trust will be there to help them in the event something bad is happening and it's out of order was to much to resist. I for one don't care for parking garages in the first place as there are to many places for an attacker to hide. I really do hope that nothing happens to anybody while it is broken.

What do the two lines at the bottom say, and did you happen to notice if you had a cell phone signal at that location?

I'm always concerned about specific damage to these types of equipment and whether it is orchestrated for future illegal activity. Same thing goes with blind corner mirrors in an elevator, security cameras turned or broken etc.... even lights flickering or burnt out.
I have to park in garages downtown for work and am very careful to watch this type of thing. It could very well be random acts of vandalism but why take the chance?
Stay safe out there!

I agree that this might be an indication of possible future problems. If i were about to target an area, i'd bash up the emergency phone too... potential bad juju.

In the late '80s, just after I graduated college, universities in Arkansas decided they would respond to the problem of dorm intruders and campus rapists by locking down the women's dorms at night. Any woman returning to her dorm after a late night at the library (or even a movie date that went past 10 p.m.), would find herself locked out.
To get in, she had to lift the handset on an "emergency phone" much like these. The phone was mounted on a pole, and to help campus police find her so that they could let her into the dorm, there was a big blue flashing light atop the pole.
My friends who were still in school called it the "rape me light". Campus crime statistics later indicated that this was a very apt moniker.

I don't know if I have cell signal there or not I have never looked. Good chance I wouldn't as this was on the 3rd floor and there are 9 levels to this garage.
I can't make out the bottom two lines either, I think it was just the Baylor All Saint's stuff, or maybe sorry for any inconvience.
I definently watch out more when I am in parking garages, and this could certainly be a part of somebody's plan of attack. Some BGs put a lot more planning into their attacks than some give them credit. Just like gun free zones, nobodys wants to admit that the BG targeted them because he knew no one could shoot back.
The real kicker is that all of Baylor's building are 30.06 posted.

So my firearm gets left in the car, as I would not drive around that part of town with out one.
