Comal County Fair

I was at the fair this morning. At the entrance, there was a sign with the generic "No guns, knives, etc" on it. Not even close to 30.06 compliance. There was also verbiage to the effect that if there was any complaint about beer sales, one should contact the TABC. I didn't even see a 51% sign, like they post at the Wurstfest grounds during Wurstfest.

No metal detectors, no wands, no LEOs performing searches. My family and I entered the fairgrounds, and "concealed meant concealed". Our 11-year-old daughter took 5th in the Youth Division at the fiddle contest. We walked around a bit, had lunch, and left.

No trouble, and my G19 was safely tucked in my CTAC. My wife thought I was being odd taking my sidearm to the fair, but one year ago a young man was murdered here during the county fair:

I guess the sign was posted in response to it.

51% at Wurstfest? I wonder what TABC has to say about it. :boxing I'm willing to bet they make more money on food than drink.

You haven't been to Wurstfest lately, have you? ;-)
