Just wanted to let you guys know about a trade I made last week. I traded my Rossi .357 magnum revolver for a Winchester Model 94 30-30, it had engraving in looked fairly old. Got home and looked up the serial number and it was made in 1965. Missed the big bucks by one year. Still was a heck of trade though.

Nice trade! Much like yours, I ended up getting my Winchester 94 30-30 Trapper by trading off an old, VERY worn out Uberti 44 Mag cowboy gun. Good trade in my book, you done good.

Wow nice trade. For you at least. Don't think that I would say that to the other guy.

Question: Does a pre '64 version go for more...I have one made back in 49-50..all beat up, wood is horrible..finish is gone.

I was going to get a synthetic stock for it, and parkerize it and add one of the below sights to it [make it a "tactical evil black .30-30](I know..it would destroy the "history" aspect of it..but why have something that is beat up and stuck in a safe because it would be worthless to use it because its so beat up...to something that is WELL protected and ready to go deer hunting with at a moments notice.

How much would one of those run compared to the post '64 version?

Thats a good looking rifle, you didnt get hurt at all.... I like it..... I love old lever action rifles, wish I had more of them.

War-Hawk.. If you refinish it, you basicly take away a lot of value, re blue and you've done the same thing.. I say turn it into something you can enjoy to hunt with and shoot. Even with the history, a gun should be shot every once in a while, otherwise it's just taking up space
