Largest single day gun sales?

You think today will be the largest single day gun sales in the U.S.? I do.
I've been seeing folks at the counters of the shops like the lunch runs on the roach coach.
Ironic that anti-gun Obama bin Biden could cause such sales. Of course, it also denotes an intensity in those buyers to exercise their 2nd amendment rights. Which is a very good thing.
Personally, I'm not going to look for much. A 7.62 x 39 bolt gun maybe. But it's more like a chance to mingle with like minded folks.

I think next Wednesday will be the start of the big gun-run if BHO is elected. If he wins, it will take time to get new gun laws into effect, but the run on specific types of guns (EBR's for instance) may make them hard to get.

There are those who fear the new laws will be prohibitive excise taxes on ammo. A gun ain't much better than a rock without bullets.

The Houston Gun Collectors Assoc. shows are the largest in Houston. I didn't have time to go to their show last weekend, but a friend said he hasn't seen a run on Sport Recreational Rifles since the 1994 Clinton gun-ban. Everything else related to them also sold well: mags., folding/collapsible stocks, bird cages, etc. I need to pick up some collapsible stocks for ARs, but I've probably waited too late.

I bought a complete upper at last week's show up here. I took my lower in and made sure everything went together nicely. I got 5 offers to sell it walking out of the show, and into the parking lot.. These were moderately aggressive offers.
I think I need a box of lowers.

I wonder how many of these people running out to buy guns are members of the TSRA and NRA?
I wonder how many of them actually understand how much their 2A rights are going to suffer? They are running out to buy guns, but what about supporting the orgaanizations that fight for their rights.
How maqny of these gun buyers buy guns then vote for Obama and his minions?
Stuff like this is just like a fire about this high...it just burns my tail.

I am just wondering what guns or rifles are on your list to get before it happens...if it happens?....

I was at the gun show in San Antonio today. I had never before seen a line formed at the tables. Today I saw lines more than 10 people deep at some tables - especially one where I was trying to get some service. Nice to see the purchase flow. Sad to know why. It looked like people were preparing for the zombie attack.

You can always tell the political temperament of the public by the massive, or in some cases the lack of attendence at your local gunshows...
Sometimes it's just interesting to watch...
Personally, I think our friend who started the National Ammo Day/Week needs to move and promote it to the weekend just before an election, just to set the mood...
Crazy...Just crazy I tell you!!!

SOG Armory had about 2 dozen of the collapsibles and tubes for sale in Ft Worth yesterday. People were snapping up receivers and lowers like crazy though. You may want to call around and buy a couple before Tuesday

I think anything that was listed in the previous assault weapons ban, and any newer styled high capacity weapons that have that 'Evil Black Rifle look'. My belief is that Biden will be the one to lead the charge on a weapons ban as he was heavily involved in the last one. Obama will be after the laws on sales, ownership and possession in general.

Congress reconvenes Jan 3 2009... It is expected if the Democratic party takes power in the House and Exec branch the 1994 crime bill will be re-enacted and made permanent. Just look at the list of banned items from that bill and start shopping, because you know the 2009 version of the bill will include those items plus a whole lot more.
The original AWB bill was based on:
The Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act (VCCLEA; also known as the
Biden Crime Law) was an act of Congress dealing with crime and law enforcement that became law in 1994. It is the largest crime bill in the history of the US and will provide for 100,000 new police officers, $9.7 billion in funding for prisons and $6.1 billion in funding for prevention programs which were designed with significant input from experienced police officers. [1] Sponsored by U.S. Representative Jack Brooks of Texas, the bill was passed by Congress and signed into law by President Bill Clinton.

I have concerns that they will try to go after ammo this time. Anyone have thoughts on this angle?

They may try to make micro-stamping the law. But there have been so many things brought up that make micro-stamping a bad idea.
Of course, "bad idea" and "congress" are pretty much a given now.

I went to academy to pick up some ammo yesterday, I waited inline at the gun counter for over a half hour. When I finally got up there they had one box of winchester whitebox target left. The guy told me they had been selling guns nonstop since they opened, they had to call in another employee to help with all the people. I then made it to the range to see a waiting line to get a lane, im tellin ya, people are going crazy.
I dont blame them though
