fingerprinting question

I received my renewal packet and noticed a blurb about electronic fingerprinting. Does anyone know the cost? The website didn't offer any details other than setting up an appointment. Are the electronic versions that much better? I have a circulation problem in a thumb and i'm wondering if that will affect the clarity of the traditional prints.
TIA,
Tass

$10, well worth the cost. I have scarring on a few of my fingertips; the electronic prints correctly identified the areas as having "low quality." Will definitely go this route next time around, as my ink-rolled prints by the local PD were rejected. Ask them for an extra print card; they will probably print you one at no extra cost.

Thanks for the info! I'd hate to have the process delayed any more than it already is.

Absolutely!
Mrs. Oldgringo submitted her
fourth (4) set of fingerprints (the last one by F.A.S.T.) and then letters to EB&TFB in Austin to get her CHL 160 days after inititial submittal.
