My renewal date is coming up (5 months) and has not received my package from state. Are they just backed up or has something changed?

Most common cause for that is change of addy without notification ... If that's not the case, I'd contact 'em if not received in the next couple of weeks. In the meantime, you can still go ahead and do your class, but the app. must be obtained from DPS.
