I have a UTAH licence on the way for carrying... and was wondering My quesiton is has anyone ever had a problem being pulled over by a LEO from another state? I will also be getting my CHL for Texas but it takes then like 5 to 6 months. I do have family in Utah and visit every year for Skiing... so it would get used there too... Thanks DW

Don't forget that the big square state between here and Utah (Colorado) no longer recognizes non-resident licenses, only those issued from the state of residence.

(Welcoming correction if I am mis-remembering.)

You don't need a CHL to carry in your car in Texas. That's true in some other states but not all of them.

In the other states, you should check if they recognize your nonresident Utah license. For example, Florida doesn't recognize any nonresident licenses except their own.

Texas does honor it.. but I was just wondering if anyone encounter a LEO that had a issue with it or did not know it was honored.... How would you handle it.

I would suggest carrying a copy of the Unilateral Agreement with Utah so if the LEO has questions, he can see the agreement. I have attached a copy for you.

Correctomundo; as of May last year. Just to elaborate in case some misinterpret and get nervous: Colorado still recognizes your Texas CHL so long as you are a resident of Texas. The non-resident part means that it won't recognize your Utah CFP if you are a resident of Texas. So I'd say be prepared to have license plates, driver's license, and concealed carry permit all issued by the same state.

I'm not entirely sure what that change was meant to accomplish, but there it is.

t looks like you can carry in your car in Colorado under the following law.
18-12-105. Unlawfully carrying a concealed weapon - unlawful possession of weapons.
(2) It shall not be an offense if the defendant was:
(b) A person in a private automobile or other private means of conveyance who carries a weapon for lawful protection of such person's or another's person or property while traveling
If you stop I guess you have to leave it in your car or open carry.
