Does TX recognize WA permit?

My husband and I are TX residents, he is active duty Navy. When we were stationed in WA ('04-'06) we both got our CCP as WA residents (as Military are allowed to do). We are now in JP and are moving back to the States soon, TX particularly, hopefully permanent, temp at the least. I do not have a TX CHL but plan on taking the class soon after landing, then I begin 'the wait'.

Finally to my long winded question:
Does Texas recognize my WA CCP? I have seen conflicting information, otherwise I'm a firm believer in "do a search" or "Google". This time I need some confirmation I'm understanding correctly.

Is the TX DPS site the most recent and accurate information? Am I understanding correctly, according to this page of the TX AG site ?

http://www.txdps.state.tx.us/administra ... rocity.htm

This tells me that as of "November 18, 2005 Washington - Unilateral Proclamation" that TX does recognize a WA permit, correct?

I'd absolute hate to find out the hard way that I was misinformed or misunderstood.

(I understand that WA does not recognize TX permit on account of an age restriction - I already read that other thread)

Thank you Tom.

That site helps tremendously with some other questions that will surely arise before our PCS is through.

Welcome to the TexasCHLforum and soon to Texas.

If you find a state on the Texas DPS website, either by unilateral proclamation or by a reciprocity agreement, then that state's license is good in Texas. It probably wouldn't hurt to print a copy of the proclamation and keep it in your car. LEOs aren't going to memorize all of the states Texas recognizes. I've attached a pdf copy to this post.

Thanks Charles, will do. You read my mind.

Kalrog, thank you very much :) We enjoy the travel, we've seen some great things and met interesting people. But a Texan is a Texan - can't wait to get home! I know she's been in good hands while we were out :txflag:
