I dunno.....kinda scary!

This is from an ad in the latest IDPA tactical journal (has nothing to do with the publication).
I don’t mean to sound condescending or mocking in any way (we all had to start somewhere), but ….it looks like two of these folks would benefit more from some
instruction….than just an opportunity to shoot.
See if you can pick them out.

I know which two, but won't ruin it for others.

I see a potential nose job in someone’s future, but only if that were a larger caliber gun. Other than that, they all seem packed in lke sardines. Unless you mean the man with thumb on the slide. Those both are probably 22 cal target guns, so it's not a biggie, but i'm no expert.
what do i get if i win?
oh oh.... edit... see barrel behind the hand of the person next to.

I'm sure there is a decent amount of room between them. The optical illusion is the result of a telephoto lens...which tends to "compress" the image.

Well...A better grip for both of them is a pretty good start...If the nose gets tweeked a bit, it's only a .22 as long as the barrel stays pointed downrange, any of us could work with them to fix those little things...
I'd want them to figure out this easy stuff before the hard part comes...They might get bit by the upgrade bug!!!
One thing to keep in mind...We all remember the first day we touched a firearm...

I think the lady is going to be eating brass.

All I see is some brass that's going to get tossed all over some folks. The lady is going to get a surprise since she doesn't have any kind of a hold. As for the guy, he's shooting a Ruger 22... no slide to be a problem, but that barrel is going to start getting a little warm real soon.
Both should figure it out pretty quick and the folks down range will begin to disperse after a few rounds.

The woman is shooting a revolver. Check the focus. Whomever is shooting the .22 is not visible in the photo.

It's funny that you posted this. I saw that pic in the magazine as well.

between the man's nose and hands there is another shooter "cradleing" the pistol, a few spaces up the firing line. It's a little hard to make out, but there is another farther down the line with the exact same hand positions as the man, It is about two inches, on the picture, directly above the man's Mark III.
Interesting. Is this a shooter's CHL qualification in another state? One without a caliber requirement? What magazine is this from?

It is a National Shooting Sports Foundation ad found on page 8 of this months IDPA tactical journal. It is promoting first time shooters. It is to be expected that novice like grips/posture will be exhibited.
I just think a better photo could have been used...and that some representation of instructors would have been prudent as well.
I am NOT making fun of anyone in the photo or condemning it in any way, I just prefer to see the shooting sports represented in the best light possible.

Looking at the picture from another viewpoint. Of the 5 grips i can make out, there is only one that I would typically use. That one does look to have another like it on the opposite side, but I cannot see the whole grip (it almost looks like a duplicate image on the opposite side). Just in front of the eyes of the guy with the .22 ruger. Then next to him is almost an identical grip. Looks like a double image when you first look.
