This is legislation that is taking place in 18 states to encode ammunition starting in June 2009. Once the legislation takes effect any uncoded ammo, whether owned by private citizens or retail establishments, will have to be disposed off without compensation. This is not happening in Texas, but it very easily could some time down the road.

Actually this is legislation that has previously failed, sometimes 2 times in the states listed. The link you provided is a company that "encodes" bullets, so they have an obvious interest in trying to pass this junk legislation.

I just started a new bussiness tonight. I am an ammo encoder. Bring your ammo to me and I will put your initals on the casing with a black marker. One time cost of $0.25 per round

Wow. What a great law this will be. Imagine a world where there are no more BGs, because we all know great legislation like this will end gun crimes. I know everyone will gladly dispose of all their uncoded ammo as soon as this miracle law passes.
The way they are going to get around the 2A is by saying that it doesnt say anything about ammo. Just arms.
The politicians need to open their eyes. Look at how many guns and ammo are being sold post election. Sure, there are alot of people who already own guns, but there are untold thousands of new gun owners out there too, and I bet they wont take legislation that makes there new firearms useless or too expensive to enjoy laying down. Hopefully the new gun owners take the next step and join and support the NRA. I havent seen the latest numbers. Does anyone know how many new members have signed up since barry and crew got elected?

That's a bargain! Count me in. Do I need to supply the markers?

At 25 cents/round, he should not only provide the marker but give you a multicolored set when he's done. Anyway, for most of us, I suppose it would take a few days and cost over $500 to do the job.
