Bexar County (San Antonio) Tax Assessor

I went to the Tax Assessor's building in Bexar County (San Antonio) to pay my mothers home property taxes and I didn't see a 30.06 sign. They have a legal writ notice I believe on the exterior door that says their is a courtroom in the building. I checked the floor directory and I didn't see a court room listed. When I asked about the legal notification, they explained to me that the reason for no guns allowed was because the Tax Assessor's office was in the building, (Just because of her). I also noticed that only the building security had handguns, but the deputy sheriff's were unarmed.
I didn't have my pistol on me, but I wanted to make sure for future endeavors. Also, did the state bill pass that would have allowed CHLs to enter buildings with courtrooms as long as we don't enter the courtroom itself?
