Forced to produce CHL, Should the law change?

So, for the second time (that we know about) we have another crazy running around pretending to be a police officer:

Here is my question, shouldn't the law be changed so that you do not have to produce your CHL, but so it is connected to your DL when the LEO runs it. Picture this scenario:
1:20AM CHL returning from DFW to Home. Your groggy, see lights behind you, and think "I guess I did something wrong." Fake LEO pulls you over, ask for your DL. Wanting to abide by the law you produce your CHL, fake LEO sees your CHL and ask "For both our safety, why don't you let me hold on to your weapon until after the stop." You comply, pull your weapon and had it over. Now a situation that was just some wanna be LEO has escalated to someone who is not an LEO and now has control over your gun. Now, before you flood me with comments like “you should know what a true LEO looks like, etc, etc.” play out this scenario somewhere in rural Texas where you don’t have a clue what the local LEO’s drive, where, etc.
